A Fortnite Victory Royale can be a steep hill to climb. Outlasting roughly 99 other players and sealing the win for yourself or your team takes awareness, skill, and maybe a dash of luck at times. If you’re looking to enhance your Fortnite setup, we’ve got just the thing: Using one of the in-game accessibility options, you can enjoy a more detailed island, so every threat is measured more accurately and you’ll always be a step ahead of the competition. Here’s how to visualize audio effects in Fortnite, and why you should want to enable this helpful feature.
Why use visualized audio in Fortnite?
Visualizing audio in Fortnite is built in as an accessibility feature for players who may require some assistance in identifying threats via in-game sounds. What it does is creates a radial threat indicator on your screen and pinpoints where certain audio is coming from. Rather than just hearing a threat or seeing a small blip on your compass at the top of your screen when they fire a gun, with visualized audio, you’ll have a much clearer picture of where enemies are. You’ll also enjoy the system’s way of calling out other sounds such as chests, vehicles, and wildlife. If it’s making noise, this feature tells you where it is.
If ever you’ve watched high-level Fortnite players on streams or in esports, there’s a good chance they were using this feature. That’s because it can be very helpful for all Fortnite players, not only those who are hard of hearing. It’s not invasive on the admittedly already-busy UI of Fortnite, so its benefits far outweigh its minor to arguably absent detriments.
How to toggle visualized audio in Fortnite
Now that you understand the benefits of visualized audio in Fortnite, here’s how to turn it on yourself. It’s rather simple, even if a bit buried in the Fortnite menus–it’s a good problem to have, really, as it stems from the deep customization on offer in Fortnite.
To turn on visualized audio in Fortnite, head into the settings menu and scroll to the section marked by the speaker icon. Scroll down to the midway point of the length menu options to find “Visualize Sound Effects.” By default, this setting will be off. Simply turn it on and make sure to apply your settings using the interact button on a controller or the A key on a keyboard.
Then, hop into a match and give it a try for yourself. You may soon ask how you ever played without it. It really is helpful, especially in late-game storm circles when every degree of difference and every sound count so much. If you’re able to score a quick Victory Royale using this handy feature, let us know–and either way, good luck!

When Castlevania is discussed today–at this point far-removed from any new games in the series–we often hear about the same few retro titles. The original game paved the way for other action-platformers. Symphony of the Night influenced decades of non-linear action-RPGs, including a long line of great games on the Game Boy Advance and DS.
However, another game rarely discussed in these conversations, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, was a radical departure from the series’ past that drew more from Zelda and God of War than it did from Castlevania. Its departures from the series’ conventions only helped make its big twist even more unexpected–and its ending was so badass that it only made Lords of Shadow 2 more disappointing.

The first image from the upcoming animated DC show Aquaman: King of Atlantis has been released. It comes from a video announcing the rebranding of family content on HBO Max and Cartoon Network under the title Redraw Your World.
The Aquaman: King of Atlantis artwork reveals animated versions of Aquaman–aka Arthur Curry–and Mera, getting ready for action. The art style is in a hand-drawn style that’s clearly aimed at younger viewers–check it out below:
Aquaman: King of Atlantis will be released on HBO Max and is expected later this year. It’s a three-part show that is executively produced by James Wan, who helmed the hit movie Aquaman. The series will focus on Arthur as he takes over as ruler of the undersea world and has to deal with a range of problems, from ancient evil …
Actor Jeff Goldblum will be taking on a recurring role in Season 5 of Search Party on HBO Max, according to Variety. Goldblum will play Tunnel Quinn, a “charismatic tech billionaire who enters a very public business partnership with Dory (Alia Shawkat) on the other side of her near death experience.”
Less than two weeks after Season 4 finished airing back in February, the show was surprisingly greenlit for another season. Surprising because, well, without getting into any spoilers–the previous season delivered a cryptic but satisfyingly conclusion to every storyline. But the show coming back to include Goldblum will be worth watching alone, as the actor’s kooky charms will be a delicious addition to the show.
He will likely feature prominently, as Quinn’…
Avengers: Endgame had a lot going on. This isn’t news to anyone–the MCU Phase 3 finale was responsible for wrapping up a whole slew of character threads and plotlines as many of Marvel Studios’ A-list stars finished their contracts and stepped aside from their decade-long commitments as major characters in the franchise. For some, like Tony Stark, this meant dying in an extremely straightforward way. For others, like Steve Rogers, things were significantly more convoluted.
In case you need a refresher, the ending of Steve Rogers’ journey in the MCU involved time traveling back to the 1940s to finally get that dance he was promised with Peggy Carter way back in Captain America: The First Avenger. Then, after apparently having led a full life entirely of…
John Wick 4 is one of 2023’s most-anticipated action movies, and now director Chad Stahelski has shared some new details about it. Speaking to Collider, Stahelski said Chapter 4–or whatever title it’s given–will tell a story of John’s “existential crisis.” It will also serve as a “conclusion” of sorts.
“I think Chapter 4 is a good continuation of all three previous films, and it’s got a bit of a conclusion to it, which is great,” he said. “We introduce a ton of new characters that have a lot to say about John Wick from his past and from, obviously, present. I think it’s brotherhood, it’s hope. It’s what the life would really be like as a bit of an existential crisis with John, and I think that’s the fun part of the movie.”

Luigi’s Mansion was a curious launch title for the GameCube back in 2001, and it’s even more curious as an end-of-life title for the 3DS. It’s got the feel of an eccentric mid-generation release, a July stopgap to keep you going while you wait for the next major title. But Nintendo’s faith in Luigi’s Mansion, which has taken on a cult status over the years and has a second sequel due to release on Switch next year, isn’t misplaced–the game still has a lot of charm.
Luigi’s Mansion sees Mario’s put-upon younger brother exploring a mansion after receiving a letter telling him that he won it in a contest. He arrives to find that not only is the mansion haunted and full of ghosts, but that Mario received a similar letter and has not been seen since he entered.
